The Doulton family legacy
John Doulton was the founder of the London pottery that later became known as Royal Doulton. His son Henry expanded the business to Burslem, Stoke-on- Trent and introduced art pottery to the company's large range of products. We stock a varied selection of art pottery from the Lambeth and Burslem studios, including rouge flambé, which is the company's most distinctive glaze effect.
The Doulton family is still active in the company today. Michael, the fifth generation descendent of the founder, travels the world promoting the current collectibles, which include pretty lady figurines, jovial character jugs, naturalistic animal models and ornamental vases. We specialize in new and retired collectibles from both factories and most of our stock is illustrated on our web site.
Find Royal Doulton figurines: discounted and rare
The celebrated British china company, has been producing figurines since the 1890s and the discontinued models are the most sought after by collectors. Over the years, company artists have created more than 4,000 designs for the HN series, most of which are no longer produced today. We are specialists in locating rare Royal Doulton figurines. Discontinued figurines are a specialty; our buyers travel the world to find the most elusive designs. The most valuable Royal Doulton figurines, discontinued and rare, were made in the early 20th century for a very short period of time. Over-subscribed limited editions which have been discontinued are also popular with collectors.
Royal Doulton discontinues a number of figurines each year and these tend to appreciate on the secondary market. Information on these and early discontinued designs by Royal Doulton can be had from our experienced sales team.
