Pascoe and Company exclusive Jester figure, first in a new Connoisseur Collection - black and white

The Jester was modeled by Robert Tabbenor, whose name will be familiar to Doulton collectors as the designer of many popular figurines and character jugs. Robert has created a brilliant figure of a Jester seated on a balustrade talking to his marotte, a fool’s prop stick with a miniature head. The Connoisseur Jester is in the tradition of Noke’s Royal Doulton jesters and was taken to the prototype stage by Dave Capewell whilst he was working at the Doulton Design Studio. Dave Capewell now hand-paints the Jester figurines at a small pottery in Stoke-on-Trent which makes specially commissioned figurines in fine bone china.
