Royal Doulton presents Catherine ‘Royal Wedding Day’ to commemorate the marriage of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on 29th April 2011. This beautiful figurine of Kate Middleton in her wedding gown was modeled by Neil Welch, who began designing for the Wedgwood pottery in 1993. Neil was honored to receive this important Royal Doulton commission and set to work perfecting his portrait of Miss Middleton before her wedding dress was revealed. As the Royal Wedding was being enjoyed by millions of TV viewers around the world, Neil was studying all the details of Catherine’s classic gown designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen. Royal Doulton craftsmen then devised a special raised decoration to recreate the intricate lace appliqué bodice and sleeves. Catherine’s wedding bouquet, composed of sweet william, myrtle, lily of valley, and hyacinth, has been assembled petal by petal.
